Choosing your baby's first bed

Most parents choose to put their baby down to rest in either a Moses basket, bedside crib or a cot. Whichever option you choose, sleep experts recommend keeping your baby in the same room as you during sleep for the first 6 months. Moses baskets are traditional wicker baskets placed on a stand that can be placed close to you while you rock your baby to sleep. Bedside cribs provide your little snoozer with their own safe space to sleep but they're still close enough to you for comfort. Many of them have a detachable side panel, making it an extension of your own bed. Lastly, a cot is a bed that stands on its own with side panels to keep your baby safe and cosy.
