- Prop the base up with some of the weight on the front leg
- Reinsert the plastic tab that came with the base into the leg if you still have it
- Turn the base upside down, lay down on the floor and pull the leg in as far as it will go and put it back in the slot
- Check that the leg button is fully released even when the leg is slotted away
- Remove the battery but make sure all indicators are green when installing it into a vehicle
- Replace the battery the next time you use it
